WILSONVILLE – Portland-based artist Tammie Painter spent years working as a chemist in a research lab, but always desired to express herself creatively. Her latest art exhibition reflects the circumstances that allowed her to pursue an artistic career.
Her exhibition at Clackamas Community College’s Wilsonville campus runs through June 16. A free, open house reception will be held April 15, noon to 3 p.m.
Painter’s love of nature influences her botanical and wildlife art, yet it does not limit her from incorporating contemporary structure or colorful abstracts. Painter’s exhibition showcases her rediscovery of acrylic painting while focusing on her primary medium of colored pencils. Her work is characterized by the intricate details often overlooked in daily life.
The Wilsonville gallery, 2953 SW Town Center Loop East, is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, contact Joyce Gabriel at firstname.lastname@example.org or 503-594-0950.
