Health and Wellness
At Clackamas Community College, we think it's important for everyone — students, employees and community members — to take care of their health. That's why we offer resources and opportunities to help you stay well, both physically and mentally.
COVID-19
We have compiled a list of helpful resources below to provide you with up-to-date information and guidance:
- U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC): The CDC's website has information on COVID-19, including guidance for preventing the spread of the virus, vaccine information, and resources for various populations.
- Oregon Health Authority: The Oregon Health Authority's website offers state-specific information about COVID-19 and guidelines.
- Clackamas County Public Health: Access the Clackamas County Public Health website for local health updates and other community resources.
We encourage everyone to follow recommended guidelines and take appropriate precautions to protect themselves and our community. The college will continue to monitor hospitalization numbers and follow CDC, state and local health guidelines.
Health and wellness resources
Practicing healthy habits like good hygiene and mental self-care is important at Clackamas Community College for creating a positive environment where everyone can succeed.
Health and Wellness
Face masks are welcome at CCC, but not required, to help prevent the spread of illnesses including COVID-19, RSV, flu and colds. Based on availability, face masks can be requested through College Safety (campussafety@clackamas.edu) or Campus Services (service desk ticket).
Employees and students are urged to follow these CDC-recommended actions:
- If you are at high risk for severe illness, talk to your health care provider about whether to wear a mask and take other precautions.
- Stay up to date with vaccines
- Get tested if you have symptoms.
- If you have symptoms of any contagious illness, the college urges you to stay home.
Frequent hand washing is an equally important element in preventing disease transmission. CCC encourages students, employees and visitors to perform appropriate hand hygiene.
Hands should be washed for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water or by using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (handwashing with alcohol-based hand sanitizer is not recommended before eating, preparing or serving food and after using the restroom).
Health monitoring can help prevent the spread of illnesses, including COVID-19, RSV, flu and colds. Students, employees and visitors should stay home if they have one or more of the following: cough, fever or chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing (muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, nasal congestion and runny nose are also symptoms often associated with COVID-19 but are non-specific).
Any person who starts to feel sick while on campus should immediately go home and notify their instructor or supervisor.
