• Moodle help at CCC

Moodle_help_at_CCC_300x200Whether you're taking an online class or need to get the latest assignments from your instructor, you'll be using Moodle, CCC's online learning platform. Below you'll find some tips and frequently asked questions.

If the resources provided here don't answer what you need, find your way to the McLoughlin Hall, Room 125  and get in touch with Ann Boisselle for face-to-face Moodle assistance. You can also contact Ann at 503-594-6310 or annb@clackamas.edu.

    Tips to get started:

The Moodle home page has a link to the online Moodle Student Orientation, a self-paced workshop that serves as a great introduction on how to use Moodle. After you've completed the orientation, here's how to log on:

    1. Use Firefox or Chrome as your web browser. Your browser should have both cookies and JavaScript enabled, and pop-up blockers should be turned off.
    2. Visit http://online.clackamas.edu. You can also access Moodle from myClackamas by clicking the Moodle tab in the center of your screen.
    3. Find the "log in" button to the right. Enter your user name (the beginning of your CCC email address before @) and password.
    4. Find your classes by using the "My Courses" link in the navigation block to the right
  • Frequently Asked Questions about Moodle

I cannot log in to Moodle. How do I get access to my courses?
If you are having trouble accessing Moodle, call the Distance Learning Help Desk at 503-594-6310.
I am logged into Moodle, but I can’t see my courses in my “My Courses” block. What happened?

There are several reasons why this might happen:

    1. The instructor has not yet made the course available to students. Most instructors make their course available on the first day of the term. If you cannot see your course, let your instructor know.
    2. The instructor for the course may not be using Moodle. Contact the instructor to ask if Moodle is being used for the course.
    3. If you have recently enrolled in the course through myClackamas, it may take a couple of days for you to be added to the course in Moodle. If, after a couple of days, you have still not been able to access the course, contact the Distance Learning Help Desk at 503-594-6310.
    4. You are not yet registered for the course. Verify that you are registered for the course in your MyClackamas account. If you are, contact the course instructor to verify that they have made the course available. If they have, and you still cannot access your course, contact the Distance Learning Help Desk at 503-594-6310.
I added a course to my schedule the first or second week of the term, but it still isn’t showing up in Moodle. What do I do?
If you added a course, and you are not able to view it in Moodle, contact the Distance Learning Help Desk at 503-594-6310.
My courses from previous terms are still showing up in my Moodle. What should I do to get them removed?
Until the course instructor makes the course “unavailable” to students, it will continue to be listed in the student’s Moodle account. Contact the course instructor and ask that the course be made “unavailable,” or contact the Distance Learning Help Desk at 503-594-6310.
When I try to access my course, I get the following message: “The login to Moodle failed. SSO credentials for user “0#w|student\studentusername” could not be found in application “moodleSSO” enter your credentials.”
When you get this message, you should click on the words “enter your credentials” and then, on the next screen, enter your myClackamas username and your myClackamas password twice and click “login.” (Don’t type your full email address in the username field, just type the part that precedes the @student.clackamas.edu).
